How Does Rev 1 Stack Up Against the Competition?
At Orbital, we’re proudly building the first electric UTV that’s better than gas. In this article we’ll get into why that’s true: specifically, these two principles.
The Rev 1 is the most capable utility side-by-side.
The Rev 1 is the most dependable utility side-by-side.
We’ll support both of those statements and share data comparing the Rev 1’s performance and reliability against the best-selling gas-powered UTVs available today.
Most Capable
Capability means different things to different people.
For some, it’s about how much weight you can pull or carry while getting work done around your property. You’ll be glad to know there is not a single UTV that can pull or carry more weight than the Rev 1. The Rev 1 has a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds and a payload of 2,000 pounds.
For others, capability is about being able to get more tasks done than you can with another vehicle. To that end, we’re excited to let you know that the Rev 1 is the industry’s first UTV to include onboard AC power.
With configurable outlets providing up to 12 kW of 120 or 240 volt electricity, you can run your tools and machinery for hours right from your Rev 1.
You’ll be able to power any of these, and still have plenty of juice left to get home.
Table Saw for 20+ hours
4.0 hp Air Compressor for 10+ hours
180 amp MIG Welder for 5+ hours
Plus, no more lugging around your noisy generator. The Rev 1 has all the power you need to get the job done.
Most Dependable
The Rev 1’s electric powertrain requires almost zero maintenance, being completely worry-free until you hit 100,000 miles, at which point you’ll want to swap out your transmission fluid. Yes, that’s right, 100,000 miles.
Gas-powered UTVs, like any vehicle with an internal combustion engine, require consistent maintenance. But with the all-electric Rev 1, you can say “Sayonara” to changing oil, swapping filters, and replacing belts.
So, not only can you get more done in the REV 1, you can do it with increased peace of mind, knowing you’re not going to snap a belt or puncture a radiator while you’re out at the edge of your property.
And just imagine only checking on your utility vehicle every hundred thousand miles.
Compared to other electric UTVs
At Orbital, we know most owners of utility side-by-sides are using gas-powered machines, which is why we focus our competitor comparisons against those type of vehicles.
However, some of you have already taken the leap of trying out an electric UTV. To you, we say: You’re in luck. A new, much better option is here.
There are a few electric UTVs you might be aware of, including Polaris’s Ranger Kinetic or offerings from companies like Greenworks or Tuatara. Respectfully, none of them hold a candle to the Rev 1.
Rev 1 easily beats the electric competition in every metric – performance, range, capability, reliability, and value. Here is a quick summary:
Rev 1 can tow 3500 pounds. Next closest: 2500 lbs.
Rev 1 gets up to 200 miles of all-electric range. Next closest: 80-90 miles.
Rev 1 offers up to 12 kW of onboard 120/240V power. Next closest: N/A
The Rev 1’s unique power comes from its custom-designed, vertically-integrated electric powertrain, the first of its kind. We designed our own battery, inverter, controller, and motor; not a single competitor can make the same claim. Every other electric UTV is built by cobbling together parts from different manufacturers, often using key components built by companies overseas. At Orbital, we’re proud to design and build the Rev 1 right here in the USA.
A League of its Own
The Rev 1 doesn't just raise the bar—it creates an entirely new standard for utility vehicles.
Simply put: the Rev 1 is the most dependable, most capable UTV ever built, ushering in a new era of clean, quiet power. We can’t wait for you to experience it for yourself.
Depending on your level of interest, you may want to consider reserving your REV 1 to ensure you receive your vehicle in the first cohort of deliveries. You can reserve your REV 1 here.
